TIMELINE

May 1, 2009 - officially began the domestic infant adoption process through Bethany Christian Services.

May 27, 2009 - received and began working on a large stack of paperwork that included medical reports, background checks, financial statements, and other questionnaires.

December 2009 - completed paperwork and began home study process.

February 9, 2010 - completed home study process.

March 28, 2010 - held a "Benefit Brunch" at Ida Mae's Bruncherie in Philadelphia. 10% of the day's restaurant earnings went towards our adoption fund.

April 28, 2010 - began the official "waiting phase" of the adoption process.

June 19, 2010 - Held the "Atchison Adoption Benefit Concert" where Alan and his friends got to go on stage and be rock stars for two hours with all proceeds going towards our adoption fund.

July 24, 2010 - Suffered our first adoption "miscarriage." We were briefly matched with a birth family, but unfortunately, it didn't work out.

November 2010 - February 2011 - Continued to successfully fund raise large portions of our adoption expenses and began getting our house ready for our baby's eventual arrival.

June 22, 2011 - Suffered our second adoption "miscarriage."

September 22, 2011 - Met with and were matched with our eventual birth family.

October 3, 2011 - Our daughter, Kaylin Beth, was born.

October 4, 2011 - Spent time with Kaylin and her birth family in the hospital.

October 5, 2011 - Placement paperwork was completed at our agency and Kaylin officially came home with us.
